Rare Early Snow & Nearley Co. Bangor ME Belt Axe USA. This is one of the early belt axes made by Snow & Nearly Company.  This belt axe is heat stamped SNOW & NEARLY CO BANGOR, ME 1 3/4" . The company manufacturing of tools dates back to 1865 -Traditional Hudson Bay style. This piece does not date back that far but it is one of their early hand axes. It is 5 3/4" long with a 3 1/2" cutting face. The handle is 15 3/4" long and is in great condition for its age. Please see photo.
