Here is a must have for you die-hard ford tractor fans. 2 old Ford Tractor promotional films, now on DVD.
- "Holiday for Bill" 1951 B&W, 31 minute runtime. A silly but cute film about a guy whose car breaks down out in the country. He is rescued by a local farmer's daughter who is driving what looks to be a 9N or 8N. She is exactly what you'd expect from a farmer's daughter, cute, all-american sweetheart. It's a silly film, hardly qualifies as a commerical- it just shows the tractor in a variety of farm applications with different attachments. Cute film that tractor buff's should enjoy.
- "The quiet revolution" 1956 Color, 10 minute runtime. A Ford Tractor sponsored film showing the development of Levittown, Pennsylvania. It shows the tractors being used by contractors in a variety of applications, landscaping, plumbing.. and more. Productivity is the primary focus in this film, it shows how the Ford tractors are speeding up the construction of this planned development. I think the tractors shown in the film include the 860 and 960, but I'm no expert.
These are a couple great old Public Domain films now available on DVD. Great film to add to your collection.
