This buy it now is for this WONDERFUL Vintage French grain sack dating c 1960~*~

~ Simply wonderful! ~*~* I feel very lucky to have discovered these amazing Vintage French textiles ! These wonderful sacks are from the Provence region of France and are magical in every way. Stamped with 2 roosters, they symbolize French courage and Pride! ~ There is the most beautiful Lavender thick stripe that runs down these sack on both the front and the back, reflecting the glorious Lavender fields of Provence~ these sacks are woven in a jute or hessian fabric, with a lovely open basket weave. Each side is hand stitched Please see photograph 6. The stamping is on the front of each sack, and the back has the lovely bold lavender stripe running the length~*~ In the bottom of a few of these sacks, pieces of Licorice root have been found! The Licorice plant is native of Southern Europe so these sacks were most likely used to transport Licorice root to the manufacturers of Pastis ( a French Liqueur) or perhaps to make syrup or candy! ~*~* They are so special, so wonderful. These sacks would make AMAZING wall decorations, and would be amazing just hung on a wall as is, or framed. They too would make the perfect gift for any Fan of all things French. ~*~ They would also make amazing decorative pillows! ~ they are the PERFECT touch to any interior adding so much charm and rustic beauty~*~*

~*~ I have photographs one sack to show you an example of these sacks, as they are all so very similar, it is impossible to tell the difference from sack to sack in my photographs! ~ So, you will not recieve this exact sack, however one exactly like it! ~ these sacks are a rustic textile. Each and every sack has a flaw, perhaps a small hole, and they are all in original unwashed condition. They have been stored for many years and smell of twine~ they can be dry cleaned beautifully. It is very difficult to list the exact condition of each and ever sack, because none is perfect! However, I would always list any sack seperatly if it had a large flaw! ~*~~ so please do email me should you have certain requirements for your sack. ~ it would be impossible for me to sell such wonderful rustic textiles without your understanding and acceptance of this~*~ I greatly appreciate your understanding ~*~

These sacks are large, they measure approx. 3.93 feet long by 28 inches wide, and vary from sack to sack slightly. (120cm 73cm) The stencil is approx. 18.5 inches wide by 22.4 inches long~
