The Marching Xylophone you are viewing is a product of the WFL Drum Company, founded in Chicago, Illinois in 1937. As far as I know, the company no longer exists. This Xylophone is most likely from the 1950's and is in excellent condition. One of my gracious ebay folks gave me the following information on this item: "What you have here is a set of "Bugle Bells". These were used briefly by drum and bugle corps in the late 1950's and early 1960's, when bugles were all tuned to "G" and had only one valve. The Bugle Bells fell out of favor quickly when a second valve was added to the bugle, allowing many more chromatic possibilities". This is indeed a rare collectible. The only issue I can find, is the zipper on the canvas case will not work. This instrument has the following specifications: Overall length not counting the support bar -- 21 inches; Greatest width -- 14 inches; Bars -- gold metal and silver metal (I do not know what kind); Frame -- cast aluminum and the rails are stainless steel with red felt padding. The padding and anchors are in good condition and this instrument has a clear, bright tone. The hammers do not have any marking on them. The aluminum frame does not have any cracks and does not show any oxidation. This is a near perfect vintage instrument that will still do its job. Thanks for your interest -- no reserve.
