It took me a little while to figure out this is a Badger, and not a Skunk....but a Badger he is, and a very handsome one at that! He is 3-3/8th inches long 1-1/2 inches long, and about 1 inch wide. He is standing on a log, also made from metal, having a felt on paper bottom. There is a small slot under his cloth covered wire tail, in the metal, and the log is hollow.
The person who described it for sale to my father thought it was a bank, but the slot is too small for any kind of US coin. I don't know if it would be for a small coin from another country...I think the dealer mistook it for one of the old dime banks, as the shape of the log and slot kind of look like that. I can't think of any other reason for the slot to be there however. If you have any idea, please let me know, I am very curious.
It is quite an unusual piece, and very old. My father was impressed enough with it to pay over $30 for it, some 15 years ago. It is some type of metal, and painted. There a small amount of paint loss.
Thanks for looking at my auctions, and feel free to ask me any questions! I am listing this item for 3 days, along with some other items, as well as having a sale in my store, in an attempt to raise some money quickly.
Thanks for looking! Fran

I try to be open and up front with my shipping charges, with no hidden fees. Charges listed are for items shipped within the US. Other countries, please email me, and I will give you a quote. I try to find the most economical and safe way to ship both within the US and Internationally, but please do not ask me to cheat.
Within the US, shipping is FREE if you purchase 6 or more eligible items. There may be an occasional exception , like something that is extremely heavy. such exceptions will always be prominently noted, so you will know if you are buying something that does not qualify for free shipping. I do not want to trick or mislead anyone. If I charge you a shipping charge, and it turns out what I have charged you is too much (sometimes I miscalculate) I will give you a refund of any excess shipping charges.
I am trying to support myself and my daughter with ebay, in additon to my "day job" as a pharmacy technician. I am not trying to cheat anyone or get rich, just pay the bills. I understand everyone wants a good deal, and I am always willing to entertain offers, even if I don't put up the "make offer" button. I do not try to use shipping as a "profit center" , which seems to be popular. I don't leave much wiggle room, obviously, if I am shipping for free, I am not making money on it. Sometimes I actually end up selling 6 things that are so inexpensive, I end up paying the post office more than what the customer paid me for the items. Obviously, I realize this is a risk I take when I make free shipping offers.
I leave positive feedback as soon as you pay me via paypal, or as soon as your payment clears if you use other payment forms. You don't have to leave feedback for me to receive feedback from me. I believe your positive feedback should be based on whether you pay me in a timely manner, or communicate with me if there is a problem, not on whether you leave me feedback. On that subject, please communicate with me if there is a problem, or you have made a mistake. I am a very reasonable person, and understand we are all human, and all make mistakes. People have forgiven me for mistakes, and I am willing to do the same.
Thanks for taking the time to look at my auctions, and feel free to ask me any questions, even if it's not about one of my auctions. I am always happy to help if I can. Fran |
