It is in excellent working condition and is VERY SMOOTH! ******************************************************** Mitchell 300 Spinning Reel Made in FRANCE Includes extra spool, box original manual, guarantee, registration paperwork (not filled out)- the papers were still inside the cellophane wrapper. The reel is in excellent condition, very smooth, strong clicker, anti-reverse works great, minor wear. * According to Mitchell Fishing Reel Museum Website: I believe this to be an early Mitchell 300 series It has the old style Carbide line guide rather than the modern roller guide. According to this website, I believe this reel was manufactured approx in 1974-75 The serial number is on the reel foot D080103 there is also a 5 stamped on as well away from the serial number. Made in France is on the body and FRANCE is on the spools *Website information varies and there are other opinions. The Mitchell company kept very few records on their manufacturing / dating process. Please do your own research and make your own comparisons and conclusions. It does have some minor wear and rubbing from use. This reel is in excellent working condition and is very smooth- perfect for collecting or putting back into use. It comes ready, filled with new line.
