This large floral vase was handed down to me from my grandma. I've decided to sell it. It is marked "Hand Painted Nippon" but after researching the Internet, I am aware that Nippon has many reproductions. This well may be a reproduction, but I am not sure. It is really quite beautiful, and very large: 15 inches tall, top diameter 4.75 inches, base diameter 4 inches. Butterfly design in bands around top and bottom have raised black and silver painted lines and dots. Gorgeous pink and dark pink roses (obviously hand painted) on a lovely mottled background which ranges from light green to dark green to light blue. Handles, rim, and bands between sections are painted in gilt paint. There are no chips, cracks or repairs.
