I graduated in 1963 from Fitzgerald Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Darby, Pennsylvania and became a Registered Nurse. When I graduated, my Parents gave me a traditional Wool, Navy Blue Nurse's Cape (which I sold on E-Bay about 4 years ago). They also gave me this Raincoat/Cape for the Spring and Summer. I have loved it forever, but quickly moved on from the Size 10 that it must have been (no label telling Size or Fabric Content). I kept it for sentimental reasons all these years, but now I am downsizing and I hope it will go to another REAL NURSE (good for you-we need you all!!!).
This is a special style because it is a Sleeveless COAT style with an attached Cape over it. You have perfect use of your arms but still have the cover of the Cape. There are two deep large patch pockets and a tailored yoke in the back over the shoulders to give some styling. There are 3 large Buttons in the front. I also loved that it was not a high neck so that you have room to move your neck.
I believe it may be Nylon material. The coat has a full lining. Quite a bit of detail in this piece.

Length of coat from nape of neck in the back to bottom of Hem - 38 inches
Across Shoulders in back - 17 inches
Under arms - 36 inches
Chest - 38 inches
Hips - 38 inches
It is in Very Good Condition except that there is about a one inch separation on the seam under the right arm. Can be easily tacked by hand if you do not have a sewing machine. NO other rips, tears, stains or spots. A beautiful shade of Navy Blue.
