Description

Vintage basketball or Art Deco collectors! We are offering a vintage and quite old basketball trophy that was beautifully created in the Art Deco style. We are not able to date this trophy due to the fact that there is no inscription or maker's label. Due to the art style and weight we would guess that it is from the1930's.

This is an outstanding and highly detailed trophy. The player is highly detailed and well sculpted. Muscle, facial, hair and clothing features, are finely detailed right down to the shoes laces. The player stands upon a Roman Doric column guarded by two highly detailed eagles. The column rests on an Art Deco base. The trophy is made of heavy brass plated metal and stands 12 inches high and 5 1/2 inches by 3 inches at the bottom of base. Brass plating shows a lot of patina and could easily be polished or best left as is.

As a bonus we are including another vintage basketball trophy. This old trophy stands 5 inches high and has a warm patina. It has no inscription but it has the original Art Deco styled maker's label from Chicago inside the base. 

These trophies are wonderful examples of the fine art that was once a part of trophy creation. They would be a great addition to your collection!
