This is a vintage pincushion without the cushion. Made in Japan and marked on the bottom. A victorian look with a young man and woman standing beside a "planter" (pincushion holder). I had always thought as a child this was an ashtray due to the four dips at the top, but since starting to deal with antiques, I realize it is actually a pincushion holder. Measuring approximately 3 1/4" tall and 4" in width.
