Vintage Pioneer Surfboard Label Plaques -"Series G"

On May 6, 1966, Bud Gardner started building his brand of  beautiful surfboards, on May 6, 2009  Bud Gardner started his 44th year of building his brand of beautiful surfboards and in all that time, he has shaped and colored each and every one of them.  He was just honored by being nominated for induction into the East Coast Surfing Hall of Fame in the Pioneer Surfboard Builders Division for 2008. 

Offered here for auction is a collection of  vintage surfboard labels from the 50's and 60's representing some of the many guys who put their health on the line to hand craft the surfboards that turned the world on to surfing. Over 30 labels are laminated under fiberglass on a Birchwood plaque.  It measures 39" X 24" X 1/1/2" and weighs 15 lbs.  It has it's own serial number.  The plaque is totally laminated in 7 1/2 oz. fiberglass top, bottom and sides. The borders of the plaque are hand brushed painted in red colored resin with black colored resin pinlines. It is glossed with clear resin and polished just like surfboards are built. You can tell by the high quality resin work that this plaque was made by Bud Gardner, who's custom surfboards are unsurpassed for quality.  A lot of work and time went into hand crafting this beautiful plaque and laminating these labels under fiberglass so that they are now preserved. Use as a table top or hang on the wall using the built in fiberglassed hanging hole. Offered here for the collecting connoisseur is  "Series G"  identified by the large "Gordie" label in the center and it's serial # is 4024 and it's price is $1,450.00.
