Detailed Description
Up for Auction is a rare Platinum Amazonas
in the Charming Austrailian Kidd leather design.
In the early 1970's Pilot released a pen
clad in a sheepskin leather that became rather popular. The next
year Platinum Pens took the idea to the next level. Platinum came
out with a line of pens in several unusual leathers that included
Hammer head Shark, Australian Sheep, Nile Crocodile, Rattle Snake,
Monitor Lizard, and the Suranim Toad.
The Kidd Leather pens were something of
a sub species of this line, with a wide selection of colors and
prints. This one is the more conservative stately burgundy design.
The nice thing about this leather is that
it feels great to hold. A little more supple than the other leathers.
Like an expensive glove, this fits in your hand comforatably even
after hours of writing. One thing this pen is sure to offer is
quite an unique conversation piece.
The Nib is an 14K yellow Gold fine point,
but what stands out is the gold inlay on the section. It is a
real eye-catcher.
