"Vintage, Retro, The Original Japan made 1950's Ceramic Stalking Tiger, by Chase"
Remember when... almost any home you walked in had either the stalking tiger or the black panther on top of the television console...Can't help but make you smile when thinking back. Well here is the real deal. Many copies, but virtually none has that right look but the one made in Japan by"Chase". Here is a perfect specimen of that time. Circa 1950's, features this beautiful ceramic, hand-painted tiger. Brush strokes with separated bristles dipped in black made to look almost like featherly fur form the stripes that surround his body. The fur underneath him is a light yellow which blends slowly into the orange. That too, soon mixes with the red that shades the whole length of him on top. He measures 11-1/2"inches long, 3-1/2"inches wide from both back paws and 5"inches tall. Perfect condition. No fleabites, chips, breaks or cracks. No fading what-so-ever. His colors are as vibrant as the day he was made. Please, take a look at the many pictures I put up here, of him, from all angles. He still has the original foil tag that says "Chase" Japan on the bottom. Part of it has been ripped off but you can still see the "flying horse logo" and the letters "ASE." and all of "Japan". He also has four circular green felt pieces attached to his paws ,which are in beautiful condition too. These were placed under each paw to protect your furniture. He really displays beautiful. Now you can see why these became such a fad. Worth every bit that you will be bidding and then some. Should be in any collection of retro items. Good Luck and Happy Bidding. Remember, "Sweet Dreams" are made of this...
