You are looking at an early Royal Electric Typewriter - Model 60-8. It is big and heavy and mint green in color. Everything is metal and it weighs around 35 pounds. I don't know an age on this, I'm guessing 1940's or 50's. It looks like an office or commercial model.
The motor hums along nicely and there are a few scratches and minor wear, particularly in the lower right hand corner (see photo). It comes with a vinyl cover and rubber desk mat that the feet fit into, probably to cut down on the noise and vibration when typing.
This measures 17" wide, 17" deep, and 9" high. It has a red/black ribbon which still has some life left in it. It has a really pretty end chime bell (it is brass).
**CONDITION - PLEASE READ CAREFULLY - There is a bit of a story here, I apologize if it gets long winded**
When I purchased this typewriter it typed fine (picture 9), but the carriage return stuck at the beginning of a new line. We lubricated the parts and the carriage return is good now and no longer sticks. HOWEVER..... when we did that, we did something to mess up the little mechanism (picture 6) that raises and lowers the ribbon and it no longer prints. I'm pretty sure that it has something to do with the tiny screw we found under the typewriter after we lubricated it (picture 10). We've looked and looked, but can't find where that screw goes.
The short version is that the carriage no longer sticks, but the keys are not hitting the ribbon when you type.
Because of the weight, this item will be crated to send and will only be sent to the Continental US. (It can also be picked up in Southwestern Indiana)
