Vintage Seiko C359-5000 LCD Digital Calculator Watch

A Seiko C359-5000 LCD calculator alarm digital watch on which everything works! (now there's are a rarity!). But seriously, this was Seiko's second calculator watch and although it didn't have as many functions as the earlier model it was a whole lot more attractive and so became one of Seiko's best selling and  much copied models. However finding one that hasn't been worn to death is difficult especially with the black keyboard (one slip of the thoroughly evil metal stylus that really belongs to the C153 and people persist on using with this watch just ruins the finish!- use a plastic tip PDA stylus). The case finish is stainless steel with matching bracelet and is in really good condition- brush finish to front is good, shiny polished sides are still shiny.

Electronically everything works correctly- all LCD segments work evenly (see 88888888 photo), alarm is loud, all side buttons work and the backlight works (and actually usable as this is one of the few centre lit watches). Crystal is really as clean as it appears in the photo- if you tip it sideways against the light and use an eyeglass you can just see a couple of faint marks on  it. Battery change is through a hatch on the back and this is in super condition with hardly a mark on it (see photo). Bracelet is original and fits up to a 8.5" wrist. No instructions but these are available out there on the Internet. Serial number is 019454 so January 1980 manufacture.
