Vintage Silverplate Gorham Coffee Server, 1931

Up for auction is a lovely Gorham silverplate coffee server.  The mark dates it as 1931.  The pattern is unknown but it is classically elegant with clean and simple lines and an elongated sextagonal or 6 sided shape.  It measures 11 1/2" tall while the body of the pot measures 5 1/4" wide at the widest point.  It seems to be in very good condition with no dents or dings.  The front part of the lid does not fit all the way down but certainly down enough to keep any liquid hot.  This piece was absolute black with patina but after a quick polish, it has come back nicely.  We leave the finish polishing to the buyer.
 
Gorham silver was founded in 1831 in Providence, RI, by Jabez Gorham, in partnership with Henry Webster.
