Vintage Southwest Design Zuni Indian Fetish Necklace
  • This is a  beautiful  hand carved animal Zuni necklace
  • It measures 27-1/4" in length with silver ends and hook to secure
  • Each hand carved animal fetish are so detailed and measure from 3/4" to 1-1/4"
  • The center middle one is a Thunderbird that is carved out of Jet or Onyx
  • There are 10 different types of birds, bears, a crab, a squirrel, dog and ~ each detailed
  • This necklace has Heishi beads and little silver beads
  • I do not know the age of this necklace.  It does have 1 fetish missing.  There is a place where two silver beads are together.  I believe from the pattern it would be a red piece.
  • Hook type ends
  • I do not see a signature
  • The Zuni Indians are known for their hand carved fetish pieces.  There are different meaning to each piece of fetish
  • Beautiful Zuni artwork and in good condition
