Description:

Vintage signed Trifari blue and green mosaics butterfly pin from Trifari's  "Modern Mosaics" line. Features large butterfly adorned with blue & green free-form poured irregularly shaped glass segments set in open work  metal. Front is polished and back is brushed golden- tone Trifanium.

According to "Collecting Costume Jewelry 202", by Julia C. Carroll, 2007, Page 233, in 1966 Trifari designed a line of jewelry called "Modern Mosaics". 

This is a quality pin. Good heft. Weighs 15 grams. This is not a flat pin. The upper wings are at a higher level than the lower wings.

Hallmark:

Hallmarked TRIFARI © with crown.

Measurement:

Measures 2 inches by 2 inches. 

Translucent  mosaic glass stone  measures approximately 5/16 inch (7 mm) long.

Condition:

Pin is in excellent condition. Any dark spots are just reflections. Pin clasp mechanism in proper working condition.
