Vintage USA 1961 Fender Jazzmaster Guitar

 This guitar was owned by a friend who bought it in 1961 then put it under his bed as he became a drummer.   He did lend it to a friend in the 70's who played it and refinished it.  An unfinished original in this condition would appraise at around $3000, roughly half with the refinish.  Serial number 61413 and hand printed year on the neck (see photo).  More history on this instrument at http://www.jimshine.com/jazzmaster/intricacies_of_the_fender_jazzma.htm  

I bought it and played it lightly in a Blues band and now I play primarily bass so it's time to let it go as I don't have the funds to be a collector.  All original parts including the case, with the exception of the tremolo bar (which is a reissue).  When I got it the electronics were in need of minor repair which I had done (touch up soldering etc.) and now it plays beautifully!   This guitar has locking tremolo so it stays in tune great, tuners work well.  Neck is straight (see photo) and frets are in good condition for it's age.  It's perfectly playable and at the same time a collector piece.   The jazzmaster was originally Fender's top of the line above the Stratocaster.  However, the Strat became the guitar of choice leaving the Jazzmaster a very fine guitar with a unique tone in it's shadow.  Some of the extra features are an A/B switch that switch between two separate volume/tone controls for lead/rhythm etc., as well as the locking tremolo.  Two original single coil pickups are plenty hot yet with the real deal vintage sound.  Dialing up Howlin' Wolf or Elvis Costello is second nature.   There is belt wear in the back as pictured and other wear of an instrument of this age with one tiny ding in the back of the neck and other usual wear with an instrument of this age.  It also comes with what might be the original strap and free set of strings.   I'm starting out at a very reasonable price.  I'm looking for a good home, bid and it may be yours!  Shipping UPS fully insured, refundable for 7 days for extra confidence in buying something of this value you can not touch before buying.  Feel free to ask me any questions.
