This very well-built vintage Unitron phase contrast microscope is missing the screw-on ring diaphragm on the top of the condenser (part #69698), so it works only as a conventional microscope. It has 3 objectives: 4x/0.15, 10x/BM 0.25 Phase, and 40x/BM 0.65 Phase. A rubber plug is inserted where the oil immersion lens would go. The eyepiece is sort of different--a Unitron zoom eyepiece, capable of 10x to 20x magnification with a twist of the knurled ring at the top. Images through all the lenses are clear.
The mechanical stage, condenser, and coarse adjustment work smoothly, but the fine adjustment does not move (probably due to congealed grease). There is some visible wear to the coarse adjustment rack, but it does not affect focusing. The lamp housing and transformer are missing, but I am including an old mirror that plugs into the stop on the condenser track. This will serve for light if you want to use the instrument until you can find or make an electric replacement. I am also including the stop pin and the screw-on socket for the slotted lamp sleeve, as shown in the photo.
That's all there is. If you're handy or have some finesse with 'scope repair, this is a great buy. The lenses alone are worth the price. No returns unless the item is substantially misrepresented. Sorry about the high S/H, but this microscope is heavy. SHIPPING TO CANADA WILL COST MORE--PLEASE SEND REQUEST FOR TOTAL AFTER WINNING AND I WILL CALCULATE IT FOR YOU.
