Vintage WS Blackinton Silver Lidded Dish, Kings Court
W. & S. Blackinton was started by two brothers in 1865 in Meriden, CT. Originally a manufacturer of gold jewelry, they started manufacturing silverplated hollowware after being purchased by the Elmore Silver Company in the 1930s.
We found this tray on Replacements, an online silver and china replacement company. The pattern is titled Kings Court and it was listed for $59.96. It is silverplate hollowware in a lidded serving dish which measures about 11 1/2" long and with the lid, maybe 3 1/4" tall. Without the lid, it measures 1 1/2" tall. The crimped "pie crust" design on the edge of the dish is repeated on the top of the lid and handles. The dish is circa 1940s to 1950s.
The dish is in excellent condition. We gave it a good polish but leave any finish polishing or wiping with a silver cloth to remove any leftover traces of polish to the buyer.
We will be listing several silverplate items within the next two weeks. Most of the silver items are either vintage or antique. Please add us to your favorites or check back frequently. We will combine shipping whenever possible.
