Beautiful original mixed media framed artwork

Very intricate detail of Circus Clown done in quill paper
Background is a Circus Tent done in what appears to be watercolors
Actual painting area is 11" wide X 15" tall
Outside measurements of frame is 17" wide X 21" tall
Artwork is matted in white with a wood and gold-metal trimmed frame
There is one piece of the quill that has apparently fallen off and is sitting inside the frame at the bottom
This is a very UNIQUE piece of artwork that would look beautiful hanging in some lucky person's home. This would be especially nice if you collect clowns or circus-related artwork or other items. This wonderful piece of artwork comes ready to hang with a metal rope-type hanger on the back of the finished frame.
The back of the artwork has some information typed out and affixed to the back side of the frame. It states the following:
About the artist. Marge Berles. During the month of October, Marge Beles of Niles will be exhibiting some of her watercolors in the lobby.
A 25-year resident of Niles, Mrs. Berles was co-founder and twice President of the Niles Art Guild. While still in high school, Marge was the recipient of an art scholarship having been recognized as a versatile and innovative talent. After her three children were in high school, Marge resumed her art studies under several renowned instructors in many mediums.
Personal showings throught the area and awards at various art show has spurred her on to some unique innovations. Self taught in the techniques of quilling (an ancient art of paper curling and shaping), Marge was the first to combine this facet of art with watercolor painting forming a relief type of picture.
Presently studying at the Village Art School in Skokie, Marge continues to experiment with new techniques and intermingling mediums, striving for self expression.

There is an extensive article inside an envelope that is also attached to the back of the frame. This is an article from the Daily Herald Newspaper, Dated April 12, 1980 and goes into detail about how Marge Berles was commissioned to paint a picture of St. Peter. It was commissioned by Bruno Mannella of Rolling Meadows. After the painting was completed, Mannella felt it would be most appropriate to offer it to the Pope as a gift. It was accepted.
