A Vintage Wood Lamp
From The Trading Post - A Classic Shop in
Manitou Springs, Colorado
Almost Certainly Native American
Bought and Cared for since the 1970s!
This is a one-of-a-kind vintage all-wood lamp made for The Trading Post, a Native American Indian craft shop in Manitou Springs, Colorado.
Our friends bought this stunning lamp for their beautiful home in the early 1970s and have cared for it ever since. The wood is beautiful and brings a natural sense of decor into any home. Even the cap for the lamp shade is a lovely, green marble-like ball that just shouts qualityand elegance.
Details:
This elegant lamp with its all natural, wood base will sit about 29 inches high on your table.
The shade has a diameter of about 22 inches at the bottom and about 11 inches at the top. The shade is in perfect Condition, as nice as the day this was made which is unusual for such brought-home items.
The wood is beautiful wood, almost for certain from the region, and is a unique curvy piece of tree which was smoother and lightly finished with a thin, clear finish to keep it nice for decades. We do not know what kind of wood it is, sorry, but it is a lighter colored wood. No chips or cracks are present. There are some white "creasings" in some of the folds and we know so little about these things that we know not why they are present. The current owners say they have never had to repair anything and the lamp is as they bought it. The white in the wood folds may be an aging of some extra wood finish? Or it may be natural for this kind of wood.
One thin crack appears towards the bottom (we show a photo in the photos section) but this is not a crack from any damage. The crack is filled with the white material too and perhaps was a preparation done to the wood before the artisan crafted this beautiful lamp. The crack is not an open crack and the lamp is in absolutely no damage in this area. Again, this was there from the beginning and the wood is as solid as can be.
The electric bulb area shows a little oxidation but no damage at all. The cord is as nice as the day this was made.
Shipping:
This stunning lamp weighs about 16pounds packed for shipping. We will carefully pack and mail to you via UPS or FedEx. We will certainly have to mail your shade separately to protect it. We refuse to profit from shipping and our estimate below is the closest we can approximate. If packing and shipping costs more, we will pay the difference. If less, we will refund the excess back to your PayPal account. Once you win this auction, we may take an extra day to mail it because we may have to get new and special boxing for this lamp depending on what our box situation is at the time. We will make sure that we do the most possible to keep this gem in its current, beautiful condition and we will insure your lamp and shade for its full value with the carrier.

Payment Policies
- eBay now ONLY allows for PayPal payment for items such as this one.
- We do not think it's fair to other bidders to end an auction early unless there is an error or omission in the listing.
Shipping Policies and International Bidding
- Save Postal Costs when you win more than one item. See our current eBay Auction Catalog Here.
- ***We refuse to profit from shipping! It's high enough as is. Once we cover your package and mailing costs, we refuse to add one cent more to your cost!***
- We often sell books and if you're ordering single books that require no larger boxing, you do not have to worry about bumps in the mail! We mail every single book in new cardboard boxing for heavy-duty protection (unless the size is awkward and using our book mailers would not adequately protect your book in transit - then we may opt to re-use a like-new, CLEAN and sturdy box.)
- We frequently ship within 24 hours of receiving proper payment!
-
International Bidders: We can not mark customs forms as "gift" for this or any other sale and we must write an accurate declaration of value. International Bidders Please Note: If this item weighs more than 4 pounds, we are forced by our postal system to ship via Priority Mail because we are not allowed to ship via Economy Surface anymore and the slightly less costly First Class Airmail is only available for items 4 pounds and under. We do NOT like this expensive postage and if you know of a less costly way to get your item to you we are open to suggestions.
-
International Buyers, Please Note: Import duties, taxes, and charges (typically collected upon delivery or pickup) are the buyer's responsibility and are not included in the item price or shipping charges. Please check with your country's customs office prior to bidding to determine what these additional costs will be.
