Rare Wurzburger Hoffbrau Keg Wagon with Driver & Two Horses Advertising Item: The item being sold is a wood & ceramic wagon with driver being pulled by two Clydesdale-like Draft horses carrying 9 Large kegs of beer and 2 Small kegs. The horses are labelled Made in West Germany and has the company name inscribed on their belly. I can't quite make out the name, it looks like Shabo or Szabo. Each keg has the name of the beer, Wurzburger Hoffbrau, on it. The wagon is made of wood with chains that attach the horses and parts of the footpiece for the driver, and carries a paper sign that contains the name of the beer. The horses appear to be made of a paper mache/hardened plastic-type of material (appears to be older than our 1950s plastic but is different than the hard rubber that appears on the wheels of the wagontread). This material was molded to capture the likeness of real horses (their muscles, mane, nostrils). Likewise the man is made of this material and can sit on the wagon or directly on the horses. The wagon is 16" long, 10" high (from bottom of wheel without the kegs in the wagon), and it is 30" from the back of the wagon to the nose of the horses. The dimensions of the large beer kegs are 3" by 3", and the small kegs are 2" by 2" at its largest point as it is rounded like a real keg (smaller on top and bottom). The man has a moustache with a hat w/feather and has moveable arms. He sits comfortably on the wagon or on one of the horses. This item is a really great find for breweriana collectors, horse fans, German collectors, or a variety of other interests. Thanks for Looking! And any info you can give me to fill out my understanding of this item is much appreciated.
