Vintage Yukata Fabric Kona Bay Oriental Art Quilt Weber

Offered for sale is a Asian style Art Quilt called "Yukata Panache".  This is a sample of my Panel Panache pattern, made featuring vintage yukata fabric and a wide assortment of contemporary fabrics from Kona Bay Fabric Company.

Quilt measures 62" wide by 80" long. It is machine made and machine quilted, and includes a sleeve on the back for hanging.  It is also suitable as a bed topper or couch quilt.

This quilt is a spectacular example of combining vintage and contemporary fabrics in a collage-style quilt.  The center panels of vintage yukata feature lavender and gold blossoms with a touch of blue, and black stripes against a white ground with blue dots.  This absolutely gorgeous fabric was the starting point for selecting 16 additional Asian / Oriental style contemporary fabrics, many of them from Kona Bay fabric company, to explore the color ranges of purples and golds.  Each fabric was carefully selected to complement the center panels and gradate from one to the other, going from lighter in the center area to darker on the edges.  The blue in the yukata fabric is repeated in the blue borders, providing a quiet finish to this dynamic quilt.

The quilt is extensively free-motion quilted.  The yukata panels are outline and highlight quilted (see closeups, including the closeups of the back).  The rest of the quilt is quilted in a japanese-style meander.

I have included many photos so you can see the beautiful fabrics in this quilt and the careful workmanship, all done personally by me. The final picture shows the machine embroidered label.  (I have my address and phone number on the label for identification purposes; I have blotted this out in the photo only).

The materials, time and workmanship in this quilt place it's value in the $1000-$1200 range.

All quilts are from a smoke-free and pet-free home. I will include instructions for hanging and maintaining your quilt for a lifetime of quilt art pleasure.
