Up for auction is an old fencing foil picked up an estate sale. Seller said her husband placed second in natiional championships when he was in college (sorry, I forgot to ask when). Shaft of blade has what looks like a bow and arrow and the number 3 imprinted into metal. Seems to be in good condition, but I know nothing about foils. Measures 42 inches long. Not sure of material covering handle -- could be leather -- and it is in good shape, with some minor rust on blade. Outside of guard has some scratches which presumably came from use. Inside of guard has soft material which I assume is to absorb blows. Tip of blade is folded back on itself to blunt it -- looks like it was made that way. I know nothing else about this old item. Some buyers have requested refunds because they thought they were getting something other than what was described and pictured. I will give refunds for purchase price only, not for shipping and handling charges, and only if the item is misrepresented.
#####For U.S. customers I accept PayPal, money orders, cashiers or personal checks. Shipping costs are usually based on distance from New Jersey; I usually ship priority mail but will consider alternatives if it will help you in bidding. I do add a small handling charge, depending on the complexity of packaging. Insurance is optional but if you don't choose it I won't be responsible for items lost or damaged by the postal system. For non-U.S. customers I accept PayPal or international money orders drawn on a U.S. bank. Rates will vary by country so please email me first for shipping charge.
