This is for an absolutely wonderful Embroidered Caftan Kaftan
I have no idea for certain where it originated, but it looks like it may be Afghanistan. I assume it is ceremonial or formal, it is too ornate for regular wear
It is a rich purple cotton with ornate decorative embroidered trim and design. The embroidery is complex and a great example of embroidery art. it has a contrasting shade of purple lining, either silk or nylon.
It has 19 gold thread covered buttons with loops down the front and another 2 in the vents at either side.
Red and gold thread paisley designs run all down the front at the cuffs , on the sleeves and at the back. Gold braid trim down the front and around the collar and the side vents.
23" Across the chest, laid flat
17 1/2 Shoulder to shoulder
21" sleeve with 15" round cuffs
55" long from neck to hem
13" side vents
Great condition, no tears or hanging threads.
