This is true shabby, chippy, cast iron patina. No artificial painting to make it look old. The lamp has very ornate details. Please see my pictures for a close look. I love this. I had thought of keeping it and finding a shade with lots of shabby darkened lace, trim and some old silk flowers. Maybe a few glass beads in just the right color that I would like in my decor. I am a seamstress and a crafter and I can just visualize the look I would want. Bet you can too. The lamp needs to be rewired which is the safe thing to do with any old lamp. Height is 13 1/4" tall x 6" wide at the base. Why didn't I keep it? UUUH"  I wouldn't know where to put it as I have so many.
