loa Virginia Rep. William C. Wampler signed 3x5 note card

Card and signature are both in near-mint condition. Wampler, a Repubican, represented Virginia in the House of Representatives for nine terms from 1953 to 1955 and 1967 to 1983. He lost two re-election bids. The back of the card is stampedMAR 7 1974, the date the autograph was received.

This 3x5 comes from a massive political autograph collection assembled in the late 1960’s and early 1970’s. It contains both the well known and the seemingly unknown. From governors Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan to Supreme Court justices; from Margaret Chase Smith and Shirley Chisholm to Tip O’Neill and Sam Ervin. The collection has been authenticated by a letter from James Spence (see right), whose expertise in the field of autographs is unsurpassed. A copy of this letter will be provided to the buyer upon request.
