You will need one pad pair for each pair of shoes.  Best feature of these great supports is that they will NOT alter the fit or comfort of your shoes. You will need ONE PAIR for each pair of shoes that you want to install and use them in. Once you remove the protective paper over the adhesive and place them in your shoe they are almost unremovable without destroying the pad's adhesive ability. So PLEASE be careful when you install them, you are only going to get one chance. These will make none of the squeaky noises, that I had always encounterd with any type of "insert" shoe liner that I have ever used. Your foot won't ride higher in the shoe in the forefoot or heel area. I have used these for years after my Orthopaedic Surgeon recommended them at his office.
