Description

This auction is for an awesome vintage 50's / 60's suit.  This suit is a unique blend of black and gold threads for a green color effect.  The suit is difficult to explain, it looks black with a greenish shimmer but the thread is black and gold.  This seems to be a rare color...It's not like the normal green sharkskin but it is cool!  There are subtle striations through the weave of this fabric also.  The jacket is partially lined in an olive green satin material.  It is vented but there is a stitch holding it together.   The jacket is a 2 button style.  It is fully lined and double vented.  The pants are pocketed on the sides, they have a flat front.  They are cuffed.  This suit is labeled Joe Alpert's  Denver, COLO.  There is no fabric label.  This suit is in very good condtion with a few minor flaws.  There is a small hole on the lapel of the jacket, it looks as if a pin was worn on the suit.  This hole does go through to the other side.  The pants have a small area near the hem, close to the seam where there are pulled threads.  These are small and they are not holes.  The pants also have a flaw on one of the belt loops, there is a small patch of worn threads...  Please read the sizing description below and supersize the images for more details. 

This suit is shown on a female mannequin... It is a men's suit.

The suit is not labeled for size, my GUESS would be a 46? SHORT.  This is a vintage suit.  Please check measurements against clothing that fits.  These measurements were taken flat.  The jacket measures 19 1/2" across the shoulders, 24" across the chest & 23 1/2" across the pockets.  It is 29" long from the bottom of the collar to the hem and the sleeves measure 31" from the back center of the collar to the sleeve end and they are 23 1/2" from the shoulder seam to the end.  The pants measure 18 3/4" across the waist.  The rise is 13" and the inseam is 27".  The total length is 38 1/4" from the waist to hemmed cuff.  The leg measures 8 1/2" at the hem.  These pants are cuffed.  There is about 1 1/4" of hemmed material.
