Vintage 1976 Glenview Pottery Collectible Plate
Glenview Pottery was an offshoot of Pennsbury Pottery locally here in Penna (Bucks County). That explains the similarity of style and color. These are "low-relief" carved and painted decorative piece. All done by hand. Pennsbury burned to the ground in 1971 and has not been reopened or reconstructed. This plate shows a mother reading to 2 children and framed by Lilies of the Valley. It does have artist's initials on the back of GT. It also has carved in across the top Stumar and the around the bottom edgel - Glen View Pottery copyright 1976 hand crafted. This plate has some small damage to the edge (it was in one of those godawful metal plate hangers) and is is 8" across and has a hole on the back to thread a string thru for hanging. The damage could probably be covered with some brown glossy acrylic paint if you wanted but Personally I find the wear on old thing is part of their charm signifying their survival. AUCTION TERMS:
Our merchandise is normally antique or vintage and although top-quality, may have experienced a less than wonderful life before arriving here. So, you should read the description completely and ask us any questions you have, before you bid. One of us is online every day (EDT in the US) and we try to answer quickly. Our items are stored in a home free from cigarette smoke but we do have cats.
We spend a great deal of time & effort shopping for the lovely antiques and collectible products we offer. And we do our best to describe them accurately and completely.
SHIPPING
We work hard to get your products to you quickly and safely. Normally your purchase will be shipped within 1-2 days of payment receipt. . Any exceptions to this policy will be clearly stated in the description.
We take great care in securely packaging your item. There are multiple layers of bubblewrap, sometime cardboard dividers between items, sometimes we sandwich the bubblewrapped item between layers of cardboard and then use more bubblewrap and packing peanuts for additional cushioning.
We try to protect against that. It costs slightly more to wrap that way but YOU are worth it and so is the beautiful item you are bidding on.
Most of our items can be shipped worldwide. MY international shipments do have insurance coverage because I have a policy with a wonderful insurance brokerage – Shipinsurance a 3rd party shipping insurer. Most international shipments are not traceable and are not guaranteed to arrive within a specified time
When more than one item is purchased we only charge the handling charge for the first item. And while we also try use the combined item weight for multiple purchases to keep shipping costs as low as possible, we sometimes must pack items seperately just to make sure your fragile, beautiful purchases will arrive intact.
I purchase insurance for EVERY shipment I send out. It just gives more peace of mind knowing that if it gets lost or broken during transit from us to you, you’re covered and so are we.
.
International Buyers Please Note:
Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer’s responsibility. Please check with your country’s customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding/buying.
These charges are normally collected by the delivering freight (shipping) company or when you pick the item up do not confuse them for additional shipping charges.
We do not mark merchandise values below value or mark items as ‘gifts’ - US and International government regulations prohibit such behavior. It happens to be illegal here and it's also a policy violation on eBay.
