Vintage 1930s/40s Crepe Rayon Dress


Fabulous 1930s/40s black rayon crepe party dress with beaded shoulders and neckline!  Very flattering fit with 2 straps that tie in the back of the waist.  Gorgeous shoulder treatment with intricately sewn maze of little faux pearls and appliqued/soutache metallic gold rope.  The square neckline is trimmed with 2 strands of mini faux pearls and edged with the gold rope.  Dress zips and hooks in back.  

Label: Lord & Taylor, Fifth Avenue.  Also has New York Creations/N.Y. Dress Institute label.  

Condition:  Very good to excellent vintage condition.  There is a tiny section (3/4") of missing faux pearls on the right side of the neckline (see photo).  The zipper sticks a little but still works fine.  No holes or stains.

  • Hips: 40"
  • Length: 43"
  • Sleeve length: 19"
  • Shoulder seam to shoulder seam (measured in back): approx. 13 1/2"
