Vtg 40s PLAID Wool DRESS SUIT Skirt Jacket SAKS S/M

FABULOUS VINTAGE 40s DRESS SUIT!!

Beautifully tailored 1940s lightweight knit wool dress suit.  Gorgeous brick red and forest green plaid on a tan background - perfect for the holidays!   Jacket is double breasted with sewn-in shoulder pads.   There are 2 front pockets.   Skirt is pleated and zips (metal zipper) and hooks/snaps on the side.  There should be a snap and 2 sets of hooks/eyes on the top edge of the skirt, but these need to be replaced as all that remains is half a snap set and a hook.   The jacket is fully lined. The skirt is lined in the back only.

Label:  DAVIDOW London/New York.  Also has the store label from Sak's Fifth Avenue. 

Suit is in exellent vintage condition. As mentioned above, the hooks/snaps on the waist need to be replaced; there is a small hole where the old snap came off (invisible when worn).  No holes or stains.

It is hard to size this, as the bust fits a larger gal than the waist - I'll call it a S/M, (remember this was designed to be used with the proper period foundation garments; thus the large bust/small waist proportion) but please go by measurements:
