For your purchasing delight we offer a unique lot of 3 pieces of a Home Grown Fine Porcelain stacking bowls and plate, © COPYRIGHT 1979, Leonard, Boston, Massachusetts.

This is an absolutely adorable set, with the bowls being painted with faces of 2 different ornery kids. One is a blond haired blue eyed girl with a smirky grin on her face, and the other is a brown haired blue eyed boy with the same kind of smirky ornery grin on his face, except he has a stalk of wheat in his teeth.

There is a 7" plate that looks like a straw hat with blue ribbon and yellow flowers on it. It can be stacked on top of the bowls, but the little girl looks for all she's worth as though she would defend her right to the hat plate. The girl bowl and her hat are both in very good condition with no chips or cracks.

In fact that may be just what happened to the boy's plate. We do, indeed, have the boy's hat plate. It is a simple straw hat plate. BUT....it does have a crack/chip in it, which we sincerely wonder if it happened when the little boy was torturing the little girl by taking away her straw hat or some similar ornery mischievous adventure. She appears to have the potential to deliver a good palm of the hand to a cheek if so infuriated. Upon further inspection, it appears the boy has taken a bit of a beating. There are a couple of rough spots along the rim, super tiny nicks or just wear from the chipped hat being rubbed on it. He also has a rough area above his right eye, where he may have taken more like a left hook to the forehead than a palm of the hand to the cheek. These two kids  apparently have had a feisty relationship in the past.   

We are not offering the boy's hat with the lot. If you do wish to have it, we can send it to you with these 3 pieces as a gift for the same shipping price. Just let us know if you wish to have the boy's hat plate.

Remember though, it DOES HAVE A CHIP/CRACK IN IT.

This is such a cute little set. It would make a darling decoration for any vintage late 70's or early 80's child's room or kitchen. It would be quite a topic for conversation in a collector's plate or children's dish collection.
