Vtg Oneida Silver Coffee Service, Pot, Tray, Sug Cream 

This complete coffee service was an estate find, thrown in a box, near black with patina and dirty.  We love the challenge of finding old silverplate items and restoring them to their original or near original beauty.  This set was worth the effort.

This coffee service is complete and includes coffee pot or server, sugar bowl, creamer and serving tray.  The tray measures 15" in diameter.  The coffee server measures 10 3/4" tall to the top of the finial.  The sugar and creamer are footed, matching the coffee server and measure 3" tall.  The tray is beautifully etched with scroll work and flourishes.

The set has come back beautifully but does have a few flaws.  The hinged lid of the coffee server needs to be re-welded.  Right now, it just sits on top of the server.  Just a touch of solder would fix the problem but we don't have the right tools.  There is also a black mark on the tray as shown in the photo.  This was a major black area upon its arrival to us and has all but disappeared.  We mention it, however, because it may not disappear entirely.  It may, but we can't be sure.

Certainly a beautiful set for display but with minor work, would be back as serviceable today as it was 40 to 50 years ago.
