Vintage Poole (Towle) 14" Silverplate Footed Ornate Tray

A beautifully detailed ornate border and gorgeous etched scroll work compliment this 14" round footed serving tray.  It is marked Poole which was a division of Towle Silver beginning in 1971. There is a pattern number 3210 and "Authentic Reproduction" which we think is a reproduction of Chippendale.  We believe this piece is circa 1960s to early 1970s.

This was an estate find and had been left forgotten in a box somewhere.  It was near black with patina and dull with dirt and dust.  We gave this a good polish full of elbow grease and then we did it again.  It has come back to near its original beauty.  It is not perfect as you can still see some patina in the crevices along the edges and minor marks here and there.  But the photos show that it has come back to really great condition.
