This is vulcanizing glue we use for making our latex clothes. Especially designed for gluing natural latex . Has vulcanizing ability , therefore molecules of glue create extremely strong bond to latex .Great for repairing damaged or making new latex clothes .Provides very strong welded-like water-proof flexible joints . To attach zipper to the latex you will need our water-based glue .
We also sell latex sheeting (see "SELLERS OTHER ITEMS " ) .
Comes in 375 ml ( 13 oz ) tin with wide lid for easy access . The glue is ready for use and does not need to be thinned up for application with brush .
HOW TO MAKE SEAMS ( use our vulcanizing glue ):
Layout the pieces you want to glue together .
Ideal seam width is between 0.5 – 1 cm , keep this in mind , when laying out the pattern
Stick masking tape on back of both pieces , where the seam will be
Clean VERY thoroughly the both surfaces which you want to glue together .For cleaning use cloth and some thinner . The surface is clean enough , when there are no smudges and when you can notice , that the particular are is not so shiny anymore. The latex will curl up a bit (that's why there is the tape on back of the future seam) , but its common thing and it will go back after while.
After the curls completely disappear (10-15 min depending on operating temperature) , apply even layer of the vulcanizing glue to both surfaces . The latex will curl up again - thats ok , it will disappear after a while . Wait till curls disappear again ( about 10 min ) and then press both surfaces together . After that you need to apply pressure on the seam to bring molecules of glue on both surfaces as close as possible , so they can create bond.
Before stressing the joint wait approx . 24hrs , during this time the glue will vulcanize and the joint will have its final strength.
Quality made joint cannot be peeled apart and surfaces will not separate under any circumstances . However , in case , that you need to unglue the joint , use thinner for that .
GLUING THE ZIPPER TO LATEX ( use our zipper glue first and vulcanizing glue afterwards )
Impregnate the zipper cloth with water-based glue . Let it dry (at room temperature it takes approx 1-2 hrs) . The glue penetrates all micro-cavities in the cloth and makes the cloth to become homogenous rubber-like material . After it dries , use regular vulcanizing glue to glue it to latex . The zipper can be furthermore reinforced by gluing strip of latex over the back .
Do not try to attach the zipper to latex without using the water based glue first . The joint wouldn't last very long .
Dont forget to add latex polish to your order ! For only 9 EUR / 13.5 USD you will get 250 ml of pure liquid silicone , which will last you for veeery long time .

Insurance already included in shipping price.
