HI, WELCOME TO MY AUCTION. I AM OFFERING A W.H. GRINDLEY & CO. ENGLAND PLATE. IT HAS PINK SHABBY CHIC ROSES, SCALLOPED EDGE AND LACE BORDER. IT IS VERY OLD. THE MARKING W.H. GRINDLEY & CO. ENGLAND WITH WREATH DATES FROM 1914 TO 1925. THERE ARE NUMBERS UNDER THE WREATH, LOOKS LIKE R9 N9 412.411. THERE IS ALSO A RED CIRCLE WITH "PENWYN" INSIDE WHICH MAY BE THE DESIGN MAKER'S MARK. THERE ARE ABOUT 3 WHAT LOOK TO BE FLEA BITES ON THE BACK OF THE PLATE. YOU HAVE TO LOOK VERY CLOSE TO SEE SCRATCHES FROM UTENSILS AND A RAISED MARK THE SIZE OF A PIN HEAD ON THE SURFACE. NOTHING DETRACTING. IT IS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION WITH NO CHIPS, CRACKS OR CRAZING. BESIDES THE PINK ROSES IT HAS GARLANDS OF LAVENDER FLOWERS.
THE PLATE MEASURES 9-3/4" IN DIAMETER.
