I am selling some items for a friend. This auction offers a 30 piece luncheon set of vintage china made by the W. S. George Pottery Company. There are 6 luncheon plates, 6 cups, 6 saucers, 6 bread & butter plates, and 6 sauce/fruit/dessert bowls. I could not find the name of the pattern but the dishes are from the Lido line and done in white and not the canarytone. They date to the 1930's/1940's when the Lido line was manufactured. They have a lovely pattern of yellow, pink, and blue flowers with green leaves and stems. Here's the detail:
6 luncheon plates: 9 1/2" - one has a 1/2" x 1/4" chip on the rim, one has a 1/4" x 1/8" chip on the rim - other four are excellent with no chips or cracks. All show some signs of utensil marks - also wear to gold trim on rims.
6 bread & butter plates: 6 3/4" - one has a very tiny 1/16" chip on the underside of the rim, another has a 1/8" chip on the underside of the rim - other four are excellent with no chips or cracks. No real signs of wear - no utensil marks on flowers that I can see - gold trim on rims intact.
6 saucers: 6 1/8" - one has a 3/8" x 1/4" plus 1/8" chip on the underside of the rim (the larger chips shows a tiny bit when displayed) - other five are excellent with no chips or cracks. No real signs of wear - no utensil marks on flowers that I can see - gold trim on rims intact.
6 fruit/dessert/sauce bowls: 5 5/8" - one has a tiny 1/16" chip on the underside of the rim; one has a 1/8" chip and a 1/4" chip on the underside of the rim; one has a 1/8" chip on the underside of the rim. The other three are excellent with no chips or cracks. No real signs of wear - only one shows a utensil mark on one of the flowers - and all gold trim is intact.
6 cups: 2 1/2" tall - all are in excellent condition with no chips or cracks and no real signs of wear - all gold trim is intact.
These plates must ship in at least two boxes due to size and weight - shipping shown if you "calculate" shipping should be correct. I will offer Parcel Post shipping for a possible lower rate.
W. S. George Pottery Company was a United States pottery manufacturer with facilities in Ohio and Pennsylvania between 1904 and 1960. The company went bankrupt in 1955 and the East Palestine facility was reorganized and came under the control and administration of the Royal China Company, who renamed the facility "Royal China Incorporated, East Palestine Division." The company liquidated its holdings between 1959-1960, and closed in 1960. W. S. George Pottery produced semi-porcelain dinnerware, hotel ware, and toilet wares. Dinnerware was created in the Derwood Line, Radisson Line, Lido Line, and Bolero Line.
I WILL happily combine shipping whenever possible.
