The2FunAdGuyz offer a new, high-quality, reproduction print of a poignantly charming, vintage 1900, Christmas decoration photo of a little girl hanging her stocking on the fireplace mantle. Only Scrooge would fail to be moved by this little charmer.

What makes this the ultimate "charmer" photograph is that she has used her own stocking resulting in one bare foot. Perhaps this is her only stocking or maybe it is her biggest stocking-we'll never know. What we do know is that this photograph captures all the hope and meaning of Christmas. "Christmas Eve" is the title of the photograph, probably created as a Christmas Greeting postcard—a common practice during this period.

 

HISTORICAL PERSPECTIVE: In 1900, families were large and money was sparse. Christmas was not as it is today. A few gifts in a stocking were all that many children could expect.  Every once in a while, we should remember this.
