" WALVIA (MEDICINE ROOT) - TAOS ", 1905, A beautiful hand printed photogravure by world famous
photographer Edward S. Curtis (1868-1952),

This photogravure was hand printed from the original copper plate on a longfibre handmade
cotton paper called "Classic" paper, by a company called the Classic Gravure Company.
They were based out of Sante Fe, New Mexico in the late 1970's through the early 1980's.

It measures: 11 1/4" x 13 1/8" (paper size) and 5 3/8" x 7 1/2" (image size).

It is in excellent condition. It contains the Classic Gravure or CG authenticity watermark
and under the image it says "From Copyright Photograph (1905) by E.S. Curtis."

Curtis was a dedicated photographer who spent over twenty years of his life from (1898-1928),
photographing and documenting over 80 Indian tribes from Mexico to Alaska. He truly captured
the remains of a threatened culture, the North American Indian through his beautiful images.
