mcwec200 Dear Haz: The sword arrived today. That is some ridiculously fast shipping! When I saw the finish I was almost afraid to cut with it cause it so great, but I pushed passed my fear. This is one hell of a balanced blade. I was doing single cuts, double cuts, even triple cuts with ease on tatami mats. This thing cuts like a laser. I own several top end katanas but even my best doesn't have the level of individual detail and care the Fengdu Devil does. The weight and balance are phenomenal, I'm able to perform (toyama-ryu) kata faster and smoother than I ever thought possible. The ghost temperlines are truly amazing. The katate maki is well woven, and the fittings are very snug! I can’t seem to put this blade down...even as I’m typing this. The Fengdu Devil is a tool I will definitely be using for a long time to come regardless of rain, shine, or zombie apocalypse. Thank you Haz for such a unique, beautiful, and finely crafted sword.

spearman8y75Dear Haz, WOW! I am delighted with this sword.My primary hope was sharp and it is pleasingly so. It has a wonderful overall balance. I had thought by the photos that the Tsuba was a tad garish but in person due to it's black highlights it seems perfect and in harmony. The Hamon shows up much more distinct than the photos and the slightly longer Kissaki is very pleasing. The katanas available locally and at the Gun and Knife show here are pure flea market junk. I have collected knives and various edged things for the last 25 years. Buy, sell ,trade and keep the favorites. I have very little expertise in Japanese swords but have handled enough fine edged items to know the sword you sold to me is a "goodun".Your “Black Obake Katana” is poetry in steel.
