About me: Living in Florida,especially in the Tampa,St.Petersburg area has given me great opportunities to treasure hunt.I go to estate sales,garage sales,antique malls and auction houses. As with every Sunday count on me being at the flea market by 6:30 am.I have done this for over 20 years now.I have hoarded to where I can not hoard no more.So,I am offering for the first time these collector items on ebay. Up for Auction here is:    A mid 19th century medium blue green open pontil quart American Historical Flask - Washington Father of His Country/Reverse Plain.This is the reason I get up every Sunday morning at 5:30 a.m. and head to St.Petersburg to the flea markets. I was able to purchase this beautiful historical flask from an elderly couple who had this flask in their family since her side of the family came to America in the 1850's.This flask has been in the same family since it was first purchased 150+ years ago! Being a collector of American historical flasks,I just about fell over when I saw this flask! Don't get me wrong! I find real treasures at the two flea markets I go to on Sunday mornings, I just wasn't expecting to find this American historical flask.The flask still retains part of its original cork that remains inside the flask.The flask is a 2-piece mold with an applied top and a nice sharp open pontil.The flask has a beautiful medium blue green color.The flask is in excellent condition.There are no chips,cracks or flea bites.There is some very light interior staining that appears to be water marks from prior washing/cleaning. I did not have the proper size bottle brush to clean this early historical flask properly so I left it as is.There are some very minor surface scratches to the high points only.There is a one very small surface flaw on the side of the flask. At first look it appears to be a small scratch but under high maginfaction in direct sunlight it appears to be a surface/mold flaw. The front of the flask has very crisp and clear image of Our First President and reads: Washington Father of His Country. The reverse is of the flask is plain with a wonderful whittle surface.There are plenty of small bubbles in the glass just as one would expect to find in a mid 19th century flask.The bottom of the flask has a nice sharp open pontil.The flask measures 8 1/2" x 5 1/2"w.
