LUNCHEON PLATE
MINT CONDITION
This auction is for one Mint condition Luncheon Plate, A.K. 8386 (pattern #)Made in England by Wedgwood. The pattern is called Swansea, PATRICIAN Style. USA DES Patent 74009. This plate could be used for buffet plate or smaller dinner plate, etc.
This is a discontinued pattern that was produced by Wedgwood from 1954 to 1971. It features a raised bone on bone swirling pattern with several types of floral motifs and the center is brilliant flowers in purples, blues, red, yellow with green and blue green leave surrounds.
This china set belonged to my aunt whom was the only owner and was lovingly cared for by her. I will be putting up additional serving pieces this week. Please check my store for the other selections.
The plate is 9 3/8" in diameter and stands 9/16 " high.
There are no chips, cracks or nicks in this plate. It has an imprint mark stamped into the china wedgwood 12 O 63. This plate says " swansea of etrusria, Wedgwood made in england, & Barlaston, decoration under-glass, Detergent proof." Also under the black printing on the reverse side with pattern info is small mark in red paint a T, most probably painter's mark who did this dish. See photo of reverse side of the plate here:

I have 4 more of these Luncheon Plates available w/ black imprint above, and 2 with the traditional burgundy printing w/ patent info that are mint, which you may purchase at the winning auction price if you are the winning bidder. I also have 5 more luncheon plates which have burgundy imprint w/ patent info, but have crazing in the glaze which, I will sell for 20% below the winning bid price. That is 12 more plates in total. Please let me know at check out time. I will mail all 12 plates in priority mail large flat rate box and reduce the handling fees for multiple purchases.

Insurance is required for international sales and is already included in the priority mail international price for auction values under $70, there will be an additional charge for values that are not covered.

NOTICE TO MY CUSTOMERS AND FUTURE CUSTOMERS:
HANDLING FEES: are based on time, materials, gas to post office and other overhead costs in running my EBAY store. If you are not comfortable with my handling fee, which is hardly an unreasonable amount, considering the effort I put forth on behalf of my customers, please don't purchase my items and then give me a low DSR rating in the Shipping and Handling category, without FIRST, notifying me, if you believe that I have made a mistake. I am not trying to make money on S&H fees.
On lower priced items this handling fee absorbs the fees associated with ebay listings, ebay fees and paypal fees that would otherwise make those particular listings and Item's availability on Ebay....not worth my effort or time. I also can not personally do anything about what the Post Office charges for mailing.
Please consider all of the above before giving me a less than 5 stars, that lowers my search ranking...IT ONLY TAKES ONE TO THROW OFF MY ENTIRE AVERAGE....Ebay does consider 4 stars as a good rank, or enough to obtain power seller status, although the DSR description might not make that clear.
I make a great effort to get your package to the post office in a TRULY EXPEDIENT MANNER and have been eating the additional postage costs when the shipping calculator on EBAY is not correct or my weight estimates are underweight, which happens frequently.
While online purchase of postage, does give a small discount to users, this is engineered to cover the cost of my printer's ink, glue and paper used in the process!!! If you are concerned about Postage Costs, please email me prior to hitting the buy it now button, the postage calculator in known to make errors, which are not easily rectified after the fact.
Further, Please Note: Almost all the items that are sold in my auction are Vintage in Nature, even if they are new in the box....they are from my aunt's estate...I use my best ability to describe any faults I see, if you want more photos, please request them, I will be happy to provide them to you.
If an item is Mint to my eye, it still implies it has seen a baseline of wear due to it age.......VINTAGE. It has been around for awhile. Please ask any questions you have before bidding.
Also, if you have any complaints after purchase, I hope you will give me the opportunity to resolve them in a neighbourly manner prior to leaving me negative feedback....this has not yet occurred, but I would prefer it would not. Misunderstandings abound, in our world today, and while everyone is rushed, open discussion can elucidate what may at first appear to be a problem, IS ACTUALLY NOT. Thank you for Understanding. |
