 Adolphe Weisz is well listed French Artist,

 specialist in painting of Portraits, Costumes, Nudes, Genre/ Hunt  Scenes/ Belle Epoque etc.  Listed in Davenport up to $37,375.00

 

The painting:

Beautiful, Belle Epoque style oil painting "Indulgence" -depicting a very gentle  conviction of sin ( penitence)- a beautiful young noble lady on her knees in hands of a woman monk... Very good crisp details, fresh nice contrast, good balance, nice composition! please take a close look at the faces and dress- you do not see such a quality on eBay every month!

Medium- Oil on oak board

 the painting executed in circa 1865-70- signed by artist in LL- A Weisz. Also marked on it's reverse.

Framed in a beautiful antique two tone gold leaf and oak frame!

Dimensions: about 10 1/4 by 8 1/8 inches

Frame is about 15 1/4" by 13 1/4"

 

Condition:

The painting is in fine shape!

has some minor second scratches,  minor discoloration spots, but nothing major! No Restoration or over-painting! Some age discoloration of varnish. No need to invest to restore! No holes/ no tears/ no patches! Frame is in fine condition!

The artist is well listed through all Art sources including Askart, Artnet, Davenport, Artprice, Benezit etc.

In Davenport artist is listed up to $37,350
