Large WELLER LOG OAK LEAF PLANTER...Note- This is the more unusual LARGER size of log planter...
Manufactured about 1920's.
Lovely Arts and crafts handled planter. Authentic- marked weller underneath.
This weller piece is from the Woodcraft line.
It is a hollow log with a oak leaf pattern on the surface. There is a single handle across the width of the planter.
NOTE- This is the more unusual LARGER size of log planter... most others up on ebay are the smaller size.
It measures approximately 11 " long, 4 1/4" high (including feet) , 4 1/2" wide.
Glaze colors range from muted greens to soft browns. Some light age crazing in spots. (see photo).
Has great detail! Log has 3-d textured surface that really looks like a cut log - with even wood knots (where a branch would have been)!
Not just painted- but molded into piece. Also I love the ends too ...as in the glaze they made it appear like a real cut log...where you can see the "rings" of the cutoff "wood" at the ends!
A great piece for a shelf display or display out on a table - great with arts and crafts era decor!
Condition - Excellent. NO chips, breaks or repairs.
