WINDSTONE
EDITIONS "MOONLIGHT" SEA JEWEL MERMAID This is a Windstone Editions “Sea Jewel Mermaid”
sculpture by M. Pena, painted in a new Limited Production color we call
"Moonlight". This mermaid is airbrushed jet black with soft blueish
pearl highlighting on her skin and scales to give the effect of moon light shining
down on her. She has hand painted details of pearl in her hair and on her tail, as well as on the rock she is resting on,
and she has a clear Swarovski crystal jewel set into the leaf-like design at
her tailbone. She has also been sprayed with a light coating
of “magic invisible paint”—a special paint that can only be seen in the
sunlight or under a spot source light.
It looks like little sparks of rainbow colors. She has a satin finish. This mermaid figurine is mint and has a hang tag. She ships in her original box direct from our
Windstone factory in Oregon. She measures
approximately 6" tall. This piece is not signed or numbered. For indoor use only. If you have questions, you can email: ebay@windstoneeditions.com

sculptures have been perfectly cast in natural mineral stone and meticulously
hand-painted in our North Hollywood, California studios (recently relocated to
Oregon). At the heart of every piece created by master sculptor M.
Peña is the artist’s passion for living creatures. This passion, coupled with a lifelong study
of animal behavior and anatomy, and an astonishing gift for three-dimensional
art, results in sculpture so intriguing and lifelike it is without equal. Growing up in California, Peña surrounded herself with
animals. Keeping more than two dozen
aquariums in her childhood bedroom, a pet toad in a wastebasket, and a chicken
in a bucket, her collection of pets soon became the subjects of her artwork. In college, Peña studied biology and zoology in addition
to painting, drawing, and sculpture. Today, the artist is never far from her animals--they are
the living well from which Peña draws inspiration and the models for the
incredibly accurate detail in her work. |
