It is the summer of 1840 on the Montana frontier, and smallpox has wiped out over half of the once proud Blackfeet. This melodramatic adventure follows the exploits of a young Blackfoot Indian (Michael Dante) who goes to the Anglos for some badly needed smallpox serum. Instead of helping him, they attack. The young man is enraged and retaliates by kidnapping a beautiful white woman (Dawn Wells) and her younger brother from the unfriendly settlement. A search party in rapid pusuit will stop at nothing to get the hostages back. Winterhawk takes his captives through beautiful wild country on their way back to the Canadian wilderness and the hostages begin to admire Winterhawk as romantic inclinations begin to bloom.
