TOP 30 HIT SINGLES CHART, 1510 NEW MUSIC & BOSTON'S TOP LP's/
Week of March 10, 1974.

One of the influential AM hit-maker radio stations in the US. They had a tight format, Top 30 Hits, and at times a hard one to get a record on. They also listed a Top 10 Album LP Survey for the week.They influenced many other radio stations once a song was added to WMEX, as well as exciting the transister sisters and tubular AM dial cats.

Top #30 Survey for 45 singles:
* The #1 Top 30 45 Hit single is Seasons Of The Sun by Terry Jacks on Bell Records.
* At #2 is Rock On by David Essex on Columbia.
*  #4 is Paul McCartney with Jet on Apple Records, 
* #5 Hooked On A Feeling by Blue Suede,
* #14 is On A Night Like This from Bob Dylan on Asylum,
* #20, a favorite in Boston, Gregg Allman with Midnight Rider on Capricorn,
* #22 is Eddie Kendricks with Boogie Down on Tamla,
* No 24 do you remember Lord's Prayer from Sister Janet Mead on A&M.
*  At #26, the constant nasty Black Oak Arkansas / BOA with Jim Dandy,
* #30 rounding out the Top 30 is Seals & Croft with Unborn Child.
The 1510 New Music adds are:
* Chicago - I've Been Searcin So Long,
* Gladys Knight & The Pips - Best Thing Taht Ever Happened,
* Billy Joel -  Piano Man.
Album Top LP Positions:
* #1 is Court & Spark by Carly Simon.
 * #3 Planet Waves from Bob Dylan,
* #4 Tubular Bells by Mike Oldfield, 
* #6 Band On The Run  - Paul McCartney,
The Chart opens, and closed, it is approximately 5&1/2" inches high x 4" inches across.
On the back of the survey, is a promotion for WMEX Presents The American Song Festival with it's logo and winning prizes.
Also on the back of the chart are the Disc Jockey 's at the time:
Rick Gary, Tom Allen, Gary Degraide, King Arthur Knight, Joe Albiani, Bill Lawrence.
Please note that the chart is a Yellow color.

 CONDITION:
The WMEX Chart is in-between Very Good to Excellent Vintage Condition :
There are no pin holes, no scotch tape, no rips, no tears, no creases other than a very small soft crease/bend mark at the bottom opening corner, no writing, no pin holes. This rare radio station chart has the patina of age and slight handling, it's part of its' history and part of its' charm.
It has been stored for over 35 years in my WASS, The Warehouse of the Aisles of Sight & Sound.
 
It's a hard to find this Radio Chart, it's not a reprint, not a current re-issue.

Yes, the on-line image of the chart looks great, but it does not do justice to the excitement of actually holding this WMEX chart and the moment in history in your hands.
